Azhar Imam, M.D.

Dr. Azhar Imam is a Board-Certified Adult Psychiatrist with over 20 years of clinical, academic, and leadership experience in behavioral health. At NeuroPsych Wellness Center, he serves as the Medical Director of Interventional Psychiatric Services, where he provides consultations and oversees advanced treatments such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato therapy for treatment-resistant depression.

Dr. Imam has an extensive background in hospital psychiatry, outpatient psychiatry, addiction treatment, and academic teaching. He previously served as Chairperson of the Department of Psychiatry at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Connecticut and as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Quinnipiac University’s Netter School of Medicine, where he trained medical students and residents.

He completed his Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine, and his Psychiatry Residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Texas. Dr. Imam is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA) and has published on behavioral health and medical research in peer-reviewed journals.
