Our skilled team at NeuroPsych Wellness Center is here to help you find effective means to manage your mental health symptoms. We will listen to your concerns and help you navigate the treatment options before you to determine which may be the best choice for you. We will listen to your concerns and help you through every step of your mental wellness journey.

Side Effects and Concerns

Spravato treatment often results in some common side effects. These side effects are anticipated and planned for, meaning we have a plan in place to help you navigate the feelings you may experience after you have received your SPRAVATO dose. You are required to be observed for a few hours after you receive SPRAVATO, and we make sure you are comfortable during that time. We monitor how you respond to treatment and help you navigate the common responses such as:
  • Disassociation
  • Sedation
  • Numbness
  • Dizziness
While these seem concerning, they are common and are easily managed by our observation team. This also will help us learn how you respond to your dose of SPRAVATO and help us adjust the dose to better meet your needs.

Activities

Since SPRAVATO can cause disassociation and sedation, there is a mandatory observation period after treatment. While the application of SPRAVATO takes very little time, it is the observation period that will make up the bulk of your appointment. This allows us to make sure you are able to function in a safe, effective manner. You will want to avoid driving or operating machinery after your SPRAVATO treatment. It is also recommended that you avoid alcohol on treatment days and that you are clear with our team about what other medications you may be on, as they may need to be altered during your SPRAVATO treatment. Our team will make sure you know exactly what things you should and should not do while undergoing SPRAVATO treatment.
