Shaniah Stephens, M.A., is a Resident in Counseling working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from Radford University.
Shaniah has over six years of practical experience in the mental health field, serving in roles ranging from counseling intern and QMHP-A to ABA technician. Her professional background includes assessing mental health conditions, creating treatment plans, and providing psychotherapy through evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. She has facilitated psychoeducational groups, PHP and substance abuse programs, and provided both individual and group counseling for adolescents and adults.
Shaniah’s clinical background includes in-home and community-based services, where she collaborated with multidisciplinary teams of social workers, physicians, and psychiatrists to advocate for client needs such as housing, financial assistance, and healthcare access. Shaniah is passionate about equipping clients with practical skills in stress management, communication, self-esteem, and resilience while ensuring all care is delivered in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment.
With a warm, open, and empowering approach, Shaniah strives to create a therapeutic space where clients feel comfortable, heard, and encouraged to grow. She welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and is dedicated to helping clients feel proud of themselves and confident in their journey toward healing and personal growth.
Outside of her professional work; Shaniah enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, being a boy & dog mom, exploring new foods, and catching a pretty view!
