Timothy Humphreys, M.Ed.

Timothy Humphreys, M.Ed., is a Resident in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Military and Veterans Counseling. He earned his master’s degree with honors from the School of Education at William & Mary and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from George Mason University.

Timothy takes a holistic, client-centered approach to therapy, integrating mindfulness, relaxation techniques, stress management, and lifestyle changes alongside traditional talk therapy and evidence-based modalities. His goal is to support overall mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

His clinical experience includes working with clients in Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). He has provided individual counseling, case management, and psychoeducation. Timothy has experience working with a range of concerns, including ADHD/ADD, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and life transitions. He works with individuals ages 16 and up.

Timothy draws from Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while collaborating with each client to determine the most effective therapeutic approach for their needs.

Timothy is currently pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling. He provides clinical services under the supervision of Dr. Grace Hipona, LPC. As a Resident in Counseling, he does not provide services independently and does not submit insurance claims on his own.
